I had several goals in building this keep.  I wanted it to be built along the lines of a Norman keep but not like any existing structure.  The main purpose was for display, but I wanted it to be playable if the right scenario came along.  All parts of the keep should be accessible to miniatures but some of the rooms and hallways are on the small side and are hard to access for playability.  I also want as much detail as possible to make the keep look like it's occupied.  The final dimensions are 22" X 19" and should be about 20" tall when I'm done.

Molds used:
#70 Fieldstone Wall Mold
#71 Fieldstone Accessories Mold (Door & Arrow Slit)
#74 Fieldstone Bridge Mold (stair piece)
#203 Cracked Tile Mold
#220 Wooden Plank Mold
#240 Wood Shingle Roof Mold (for future use)
Custom Pieces:
Tapered Fieldstone pieces from Kovax
1.5" Fieldstone piece from myself and Kovax
Custom T Fieldstone piece
Custom stair pieces

I've been taking pictures after each row of bricks has been added and put it into a stop motion movie.
The movie is in WMV format and is currently 975K in size.  As the work progresses I'll take more pictures and hopefully the movie will be the entire keep being built.  Right now it's 7 seconds long.

MOVIE

The first shots are of the entrance turret.  This is the first line of defense of a keep.  The stairs up the front will be set so that anyone on top of the castle can shoot down on them for defense.  The stairs were made from the Fieldstone Bridge Mold (#74) and some custom pieces that break up the pattern from the one piece on the mold.  The other platform on the right side is where the drawbridge from the keep will open to entrance turret.  The crenellations are from Kovax's tapered fieldstone pieces.

The main level of the entrance turret is floored with the wooden plank mold and has a trap door to the basement storage area.  I've got a hinge system worked out but I haven't implemented it yet.  A Warhammer figure is included to show scale.
The floor of the entrance turret is the cracked tile mold.  This would be a storage area of some sort for the entrance keep and is accessed through a trapdoor and ladder from the above floor.
Here is a close-up of the stairs to the entrance turret.  Try to pick out the custom pieces and the one from the Fieldstone bridge mold.  These custom stair pieces should be available from the Community Mold Project in the near future.

Here is a close-up of the front of the keep basement.  You can see the edge of the entrance turret on the right side of the pic.  The rooms are intended for storage rooms.  The C shape on the left side of the keep is the bottom of a watch tower that won't be accessible until the main level but it would look funny if it didn't start until the next level so it extends to the basement.

This is part of the rear of the keep.  It includes prison cells and the base of a watch tower where stairs will come down to this level.  The entrance turret is in the top left corner of the picture.

This is a close-up of the stairs coming down from the turret in the back corner of the keep.  I'm going to fill the empty space with foam for filler and place a landing for the next level on top of it.  The entrance turret is on the opposite corner from this stair for reference.

This is another view of the basement level from the back side.  You can see several of the doorways from this view.  In the background is the entrance turret.
