Modular Trenches
I wanted to make a modular trench system that could be set up easily on the table top for games of Warhamer 40K. Other than a neat piece of terrain I didn't have many goals with this project. The trench sections were made with sculpey and the wooden plank mold. Then I covered the area for dirt in a fairly thick layer of tackey glue then sprinkled a bit of cheap cat litter (the non-clumping kind) and pushed the pieces into the glue so they would look partially buried. Once the rocks were in place I sprinkled dry plaster on top of the glue (similar to Abaroth's Grave tutorial)) and let dry. I then made a mold of the pieces so I could cast as many as I wanted.

Cadian Shock Troops Hold off some genestealers
Some Cadian shock troops hold off some of the dreaded monochrome genestealers. I never really got around to painting the genestealers but it gives a good idea as to the scale of the trench pieces.

The pieces
The individual pieces that make up the system. There are 2 straight sections and two different kinds of corners. In the future I may make some end pieces, a 45 degree corner piece and maybe some bunkers.

Geez, those stealers are still coming!
