I don't often decorate for the holidays but this year Halloween is on a Friday so I thought I'd do some decorating.
I went to the store to find decorations but I didn't want to pay $20 for a tombstone made out of foam, especially since I have a lot of foam and everything I need to make tombstones from my terrain making at home.
I have 2 tutorials on making tombstones for you this time.
The first is How to Make a tombstone
and the second is How to carve letters into a foam tombstone.
If there was ever any doubt about whether I had a grand plan for this site, this update should resolve it. If I had any great plan I would have done these articles last month so people would have time to find and implement them. Oh, well. They'll be here for next year.

I had the server the site runs on upgraded. There were a few bumps along the way but finally everything is worked out and the site is back up (finally!). This upgrade should make things faster and gives me access to the latest versions of Perl and PHP for the site as well as a few other things that should make the site better in the long run.
Hopefully now that the upgrade is done I can get back to updating the site on a regular basis instead of scratching my head wondering why something doesn't work that used to.

As you've no doubt noticed there hasn't been an update this week. I tried to get one finished for this week and just have had too many other things that had to be done. I'm going to have to go to a less stringent update schedule. I should be able to update every other week and definitely every month, but every week is just too much.

The time has come for this years Hirst Arts Design Derby. For this years contest I created a working trebuchet from the Wooden Plank Mold. It turned out well, but still needs some tweaking to get it to launch projectiles correctly.
